About the Class
January 22nd and 23rd, Two Full Day Sessions
Phius Certified Verifiers deliver on-site quality assurance for multi-family residential and non-residential passive building projects. This course is geared toward HERs Raters testing and commissioning multifamily buildings and professionals familiar with non-residential buildings. Training provides grounding in Phius building principles and onsite quality assurance for the Phius Certification program. Knowledge of HERs rating practices, Energy Star Homes, Indoor airPLUS, and DOE ZERH Programs is helpful. Those who wish to pursue certification after training must meet certification exam prerequisites and be approved to complete the exam. This training is delivered live online and is a combination of presentation and discussion.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will gain the knowledge needed to:
- Identify Phius design strategies
- Identify Phius mechanical/ventilation systems
- Perform on-site QA and integration of prerequisite programs; Energy Star Homes, Indoor airPLUS, and DOE ZERH
- Perform site inspection and testing protocols and Phius Certification deliverables

Express Grant Eligibility
Employers with 50 or fewer Massachusetts, W-2 employees are eligible to receive 100% reimbursement of approved training costs via Express Grants. Employers with 51 to 100 MA, W-2 employees are eligible to receive 50% reimbursement of approved training costs via Express Grants.
Express Program grant applications must be submitted no fewer than 21 days before the training date.
The contracting period of approved Express Grants begins 21 days after the grant application date and ends one year from this date. All training must be completed within the contract period to be eligible for reimbursement.
