About this Event
Stoic philosophers believed that moral excellence is the primary thing one should strive for in life. From this perspective, they recommend pursuing moral excellence by cultivating four key virtues: wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation.
These are ancient arguments. This meetup will consider: what relevance does cultivation of these virtues have in our present society. Do these still hold valuable lessons for how we should live today? Are there alternate virtues that you think are more relevant for measuring moral excellence today? How do you think our society today considers moral excellence?

About the Philosophical Garden Meetups:
No philosophical knowledge is required for our meetups.
Our goal with these conversations are to exchange thoughts and ideas and inquire together to make better sense of current situations in the world and ourselves.
Each meetup will have a moderator. It will begin with an introduction round and a conversation agreement before starting the discussion. Please be on time.
About the meeting place
The Kaskantine is still under construction, so we don't have an inside space that we can use yet!
The meetup will be in the garden. Check the weather at the day of the meetup
If the weather does not permit outdoor meetings and if we can't find an alternative venue, we will need to postpone the meetup.
