The standard Philip Roth Walking Tour covers a bit about the history of Philip Roth’s life in Newark. Guests visit several downtown landmarks that come up as subjects in the books, visit the Philip Roth reading room at the main branch of the Newark Public Library and see Roth‘s life in the history and the context of the larger City of Newark. Several other Roth landmarks, like his high school, childhood home, etc. are not walking distance from Downtown, but the guide as part of the experience can help you map out a separate trip for you to visit them on your own.
