Our September 25 speaker will be Tyler Rafter, Kansas State Coordinator for Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever. Tyler has experience as a farm bill biologist and land management specialist helping landowners work with partner organizations to implement habitat improvements.
Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever is a national organization working to conserve upland habitat. Kansas has 45 local chapters that focus on youth events, education and outreach, hunting heritage, outdoor education, and habitat improvement. A specific focus of many chapters in Kansas, where 98% of land is privately owned, is increasing public access to hunting areas. Tyler will present information about the biology and ecology of pheasants and quail, highlight some of the work being done in Kansas, and share opportunities to get involved with Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever and support their work.
