Enjoy the nice weather and join us on Sunday the 31th of August on our PhD Community walk in the Flemish Ardennes (Geraardsbergen) to walk around the forrests and hills. We will cross the language border between Flanders and Wallonie and see iconic landmarks like the orginal peeing boy, the chappel on the Wall and the abby of Geraardsbergen. As a treat there will be the opportunity to try out the local cheese pie “Mattentaart” We meet at Gent-Sint-Pieters station at 9h45 to take the S52 train to Geraardsbergen at 10:05. The walk starts at 11h and is around 17km long so we are predicted to be back around 15h. You can bring your own lunch to eat allong the walk.
