The University Graduate School supports postgraduates at the University of Birmingham. We offer a variety of academic, social and wellbeing activities throughout the year. You can find out more about the events we hold for PGT students here.
Do you love cake? Eating it, making it, talking about it, or all of the above? Do you want to meet more of your fellow PGTs in a chilled-out environment where you can try out some of the complementary tasty treats on offer whilst sharing your favourite recipes and learning something new?
Then you’ll love PGT Keep Calm and Eat Cake, which is hosted by Amy, one of your ! Each session, you can help yourself to some sweet treats and a hot drink of your choice. If that’s not enough, you’ll also leave with a short recipe card so you can try your hand at recreating these blissful bites at home! Don’t limit yourself to our menu… Surrounded by other PGT students, you can also swap and share your favourite recipes, learn a thing or two, and get to know some likeminded foodies.
Whether you’ve never stepped foot in a kitchen before or you consider yourself the next Mary Berry, it doesn’t matter, so long as you like cake and a laid-back social atmosphere.
Once you’ve enjoyed some sweet treats, swapped your recipes and picked up your recipe card, why not come back for our next session to taste something new and collect a new recipe?
Please note there will be a choice of tea, coffee, and fruit juice. If you have a reusable mug, please bring it!

This event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate taught students (PGT).
PGT programmes include: MA, MSc, MBA, MEd, LLM, MPH, Maths SKE, MPA, PG Affiliate, PG Certificate, PG Dip Ed, PG Diploma, and PGCE.

Registration will close 15 mins before the event start time or when tickets are sold out. We will be checking attendees against the Eventbrite registration and you may be refused entry if we have met capacity and you are not on the list. We have limited capacity so please cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.
