Take a break from your desk with PGR Board Games, hosted by UGS Scholars Ryan and Thea! Thea has been playing tabletop games for years, has run a Dungeons and Dragons game for years now and spent this summer working for a games company designing a new board game. Ryan is also a big gamer, whether it’s board games or video games or Dungeons and Dragons, and has been helping run a board games group back home for a few years.
Join us at Westmere House for an afternoon of boardgames and fun! Whether you’re a complete beginner who hasn’t touched a boardgame in years, or a hardcore boardgamer who plays every evening, there’ll be something here for you.
We have a wide range of different board games at Westmere House – from more casual icebreakers like Codenames and Ticket to Ride to more involved games like Pandemic and Carcassonne – so whatever your experience level we’ll have something for you to enjoy!
The session will run from 1PM until 4PM and we have a bunch of games planned, so don’t worry about dropping in late or leaving early. We’ll make sure to find a space for you whenever you arrive. So come along to meet with your fellow PGRs and have a chilled afternoon playing boardgames!
Location: Westmere House on Edgbaston Park Road (G15 on the campus map).
Westmere House is the postgraduate researcher hub at the University of Birmingham, and provides a place for postgraduate researchers to meet, connect and work.

This event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate researchers (PGR).
PGR programmes include: MPhil, MMus, MRes, MA by Research, MSc by Research, MLitt, PhD, PhD with integrated study, EngD, DDS, MD, Higher doctorates and Professional doctorates.
Registration will close 15 mins before the event start time or when tickets are sold out. We will be checking attendees against the Eventbrite registration and you may be refused entry if we have met capacity and you are not on the list. We have limited capacity so please cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.
