Join us for a fundraiser screening of Pike River. We are fundraising to support our local campaigns such as Living Wage Schools and Living Wage for Resene.
A portion of the money raised will be going towards supporting Resene workers who are fighting for a living wage at the Naenae paint factory. (A huge thank you to our community who have rallied to tautoko these workers in their fight for fairness and a living wage!)

Based on the Pike River Mine disaster of 2010, the story follows the subsequent, years-long battle for justice led by Anna Osborne (played by Melanie Lynskey) and Sonya Rockhouse (played by Robyn Malcolm), two friends whose respective husband and son—along with 27 other workers—were killed during an underground explosion.
