Introduced last spring played on the virtual organ of Hereford Cathedral by the composer, this concert returns by audience request in another imaginative format, combining the Hereford organ with the cathedral’s 1973 Wilhelm instrument in an artistic technological feat, joined by real and virtual singers. Hereford Variations is a set of fifteen organ pieces inspired by the life and works of the seventeenth-century priest and writer Thomas Traherne, as commemorated in striking stained glass windows by Tom Denny (2007) at Hereford Cathedral. A common theme is “the beauty of creation and the essential happiness or ‘felicity’ of humankind within it.”Click here to download the complete program booklet: https://files.constantcontact.com/abe61683201/0db41861-391e-415e-9f8f-4d107428b131.pdf
