About this Event
Date: Saturday, 29th June 2024
Morning Performance: 11am - 12pm
Afternoon Performance: 2pm - 3pm
Join us for a fun performance of Prokofiev’s musical fairytale Peter and the Wolf in the beautiful surroundings of Chelmsford Cathedral.
Together we'll hear the story of brave young Peter who encounters a cunning wolf in the forest near his home. With the help of his animal friends can Peter outsmart the wolf before it's too late? Come along to find out!
The perfect way to introduce young listeners to classical music, storyteller Mike Dodsworth expertly guides us through the lively score, creatively reimagined for the Cathedral organ by organist Samuel Bristow.
Created with families in mind, our welcoming performance atmosphere will encourage children to take centre stage during the performance, sitting on mats in the middle of the Nave and helping to bring the story to life with the movements of the characters.
And before the music begins, children are invited to join us at the craft station half an hour before each show time where they can make their own puppet to be part of the storytelling during the performance.
Don't miss this opportunity to experience a morning of music and storytelling that will leave the whole family enchanted!
