About this Event
Peter Yarrow’s career of music and activism spans six decades. He believes in the power of music to unite and inspire change, and has dedicated decades to social causes such as equal rights, peace, and gender equality, as well as homelessness, hospice care, public broadcasting and education. Along with bandmates Noel Paul Stookey and Mary Travers, Peter, Paul & Mary became significant figures in the Peace/Anti-Vietnam War Movement included organizing significant peace concerts. Yarrow’s songwriting has produced classics such as “Puff, the Magic Dragon” and “Light One Candle.” Through Operation Respect, Yarrow continues to advocate for societal transformation, emphasizing the importance of community and continued commitment to making a better world.
Yarrow will be joined by Michigan folk duo Mustard's Retreat. Singing timeless songs, they've performed at pig roasts and pool parties, and Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Barns at Wolftrap and the Kennedy’s Center’s Millennium Stage. They're a perfect match for Yarrow, believing that “Folk music is, at its heart, defiantly hopeful!”
