Show features a rotating mix of songwriters sharing original songs as well as some written by a few of our favorite writers. We are individual artists, each taking a turn playing songs sitting in a chair with just a guitar and a microphone. It’s called a “Nashville Round” because this is how many songwriters perform in Nashville. Since our voices and song styles change every song, audiences are continually rewarded with fresh sounding music. It’s effectively three performers in one. Started producing this show over 4 years ago. Tonights performers include:
Host Pete Sommer is a Local Singer/Songwriter & Producer (TV & Music) including Host of the Neighborhood Pizza Guy/Cafe Zoe monthly Open Mic (for 18 years), produced an Award winning 90 Minute Cable TV Show. Often shares background stories and colorful tales of his experiences in the LA & Nashville music scene. Performs guitar and banjo in Americana/folk/cowboy/blues/pop bands performing at concerts and clubs.
Cap Wilhelm-Safian is a die-hard folkie troubadour with country, roots, rock, psychedelic, reggae, and punk sensibilities. He is a singer-songwriter: a purveyor of folk and roll anthems, utopian blues, piney country protest songs, poetic polemics, jangling jeremiads, and civic hymns.
Noted local songwriter James Coon is known for his warm rich melodies and lyrical elegance. From the driving Heartland Rock of “Just Without Me” to the blues-influenced “Suggestible Smile” to his oft-requested and haunting “New York in the Rain” — you’ll find him performing regularly at the iconic and legendary Cats in Los Gatos, as well as other well-known venues in the greater South Bay.
