Concert with Cambridge Jazz Choir and esteemed guests, Pete Churchill and the London Vocal Project.
After more than 7 years, we're thrilled to welcome Pete Churchill's and his London Vocal Project back to Cambridge!
The London Vocal Project is one of the UK's leading contemporary vocal ensembles, specialising in jazz and groove music.
Formed in 2008 from graduates of London conservatoires, the 24-strong choir comprises singers, instrumentalists, composers and music educators.
Their repertoire spans a huge breadth of genres, from jazz and popular music to gospel and groove. In addition to performing their own arrangements and compositions at London's most famous venues, they have collaborated with some of the world's leading writers and performers, including Sir John Dankworth, Kenny Wheeler, Bobby McFerrin and Jon Hendricks.
Passionate about music education, they have worked with various schools music services, leading workshops in composition and performance, culminating in major productions involving over 1,000 young musicians.
LVP is led by established composer, performer, conductor and educator Pete Churchill.
The Cambridge Jazz Choir is a vibrant community choir built on the joy of song. With around 60 members, aged 18 to 80, we represent over 20 different nationalities, creating a rich, diverse blend of voices. We come together to learn and perform jazzy, soulful, and groovy tunes, celebrating the power of music to unite people from all walks of life.
CJC is led by respected vocalist and musician Andi Hopgood. Andi is a member of the London Vocal Project.
The concert will have an interval.
