This 4-hour workshop aims to empower pet owners and animal care professionals to recognize and respond to common pet emergencies. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Heather Becker from Animal Emergency Medical Training (AEMT). Topics that will be discussed include:
- Recognizing and assessing injuries and medical emergencies
- Assessing airway, breathing, and circulation
- Bandaging
- Heat stroke
- Choking
- Near-drowning
- Basic cardiopulmonary life support

Optional Pet CPR certification is available!
In partnership with RECOVER, there will also be an optional Pet CPR certification available. To receive your Pet CPR certification, you MUST complete RECOVER’s online Pet CPR program prior to Summit’s in-person workshop.
