First Congregational Church to hold its annual Pet Blessing / Pet Remembrance ServiceOn Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. the Animal Ministries Group of First Congregational Church will hold its 12th annual interfaith Pet Blessing/Pet Remembrance service. Whether you have a beloved pet you’d like blessed or you have lost a pet that you’d like remembered at this service, we welcome and encourage you to attend this special service to honor the pets in your life that you’ve cared for and loved so deeply.
All pets attending should be well-behaved and either on a leash or crated. If required, they should be current on their rabies vaccinations.
If honoring a pet you’ve lost – whether recently or even some time ago – you’re invited to bring a photo of them, or other special possession of theirs, such as a collar, leash, favorite toy, picture, etc. so they can be honored during this memorable service.
Besides Pastor Julie Eklund from FCC, Rev. Sandra Crase from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Oshkosh and Pastor Maggie Berndt-Dreyer of Peace Lutheran Church, Oshkosh will be participating in this service.
While the service is free, we will be collecting donations of cash and most-needed items for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. Please visit the shelter’s website at oahs.org to see what items they most need right now.
Everyone attending will receive a memento to take with them at the conclusion of the service.
Please tell your family and friends who own or have lost pets about this service so that they can also attend.
First Congregational Church is located at 137 Algoma Blvd. just west of the sundial in downtown Oshkosh. Parking is available in the church's lot. On-street parking is also available. We hope to see you on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.
