Ladies and Gentlemen, Join me for a scenic ride along some of the most enjoyable roads in the region, finishing up at the iconic Wollombi Tavern. The Wollombi Tavern, established in 1868, has been a historic stop for travellers exploring the Hunter Valley region. Originally built as a staging point for those journeying along the Great North Road, it served as a hub for locals and travellers alike.
Let's hit the road, share the journey, and wrap up with great vibes at the Tavern.
ð Meet-Up Details:
Weâll kick things off at 9:30 AM from the BP Truckstop, Asquith (Jersey Street North).
Kickstands up 10:00 AM Sharp to arrive at the tavern around 12:00 PM.
ð Route:
118 km ~ 2 hours
Head north along the Pacific Highway (B83).
We will stop at Cowan Rest Area for a minute to allow stragglers to catch up.
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Wisemans Ferry Road.
Turn right onto George Downes Drive.
Follow it as it becomes the Great North Road.
Our final stop: Wollombi Tavern on the left.

No corner markers, but the route is straightforwardâjust follow the flow.
