This workshop focuses on 10 common pests in the West Michigan area: aphids, cabbage worms, cucumber beetles, cutworms, flea beetles, leaf miner, potato beetles, thrip, tomato hornworms, and wireworms. Check out our pest pokemon cards to learn more about lifecycles, how they affect crops, and decide which management strategies you should choose!
Participants are invited to bring their favorite tools and tricks to share with the group.
This program is offered free of charge due to generous grant funding.
This program is geared toward adults.
Please Note: This program will take place entirely outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled, and participants will be notified of their refund options.
Your program will be taking place at Blandford Farm, located at 3145 Milo Street NW, Grand Rapids MI 49504.
Please note there are NO BATHROOMS AT THE FARM from November to March and only port-a-potties available from April to October. The nearest full-service bathrooms are at the Blandford Visitor Center, a 10-15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away.
Cancellation Policy: All Community Programs will be held unless there is severe weather. All Community Programs will have a registrant minimum. If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted by Blandford Nature Center and notified. If you cannot attend this free program, please email [email protected] so that we may fill your spot from the waitlist.
