The Baton Rouge Botanic Garden Foundation will host a FREE Garden Discoveries series event, “Pest Control Strategies for Home and Garden” led by Dr. Aaron Ashbrook, Urban Entomologist at LSU’s Ag Center, at the Main Library at Goodwood on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. Would you like to know more about how scientific research is used to solve pest related issues in your home and garden? Join Dr. Ashbrook to learn about his research into insect physiology and behavior, insecticide resistance, bio-control, and the unique evolutionary adaptations of urban pests. His research is helping to develop a biological understanding of insects at multiple levels for improving pest control strategies to better alleviate impacted people. Weather permitting a tour will follow of the Baton Rouge Botanic Gardens adjacent to the Library.
