The Perth Chess League (Haydn Barber Shield) is gearing up for its second season starting on 11th March, 2025, hosted by the Southern Suburbs Chess Club. The league features a four-board team tournament over nine rounds, with matches scheduled monthly on weeknights. The format varies based on participation and strength, with player eligibility and team commitments outlined to ensure fair play and continuity. Winners will be decided by Match Points, with Game Points as tie-breakers. Games are ACF rated with classical time controls, and FIDE laws of chess apply. The league has two divisions: First Division with four teams playing a nine-round triple round-robin, and Second Division with up to four teams, with formats tailored based on participation. Teams interested in participating should confirm their entry by contacting League Organiser Ian McAteer before 15th February, 2025.
