About this Event

SisterBot explores themes of self‑love, queerness, gratitude, trauma processing, and cosmic identity through episodic, narrative songwriting. Their work aims to be an invitation to audiences to embrace authenticity and shared vulnerability.

SisterBot is the genre-defying music project led by Kansas City composer and cellist Adee Dancy. Originally performing solo under the name Adee Rocket Dancy, they shifted to the name SisterBot in 2021 just before releasing their debut album Truth House—a cathartic, concept-driven collection exploring trauma, rebirth, and identity.

What began as a solo project quickly evolved into a full ensemble described as a “punk-pop chamber orchestra,” blending electric guitar, strings, horns, piano, and vocals into cinematic, emotionally raw performances. SisterBot’s music leans theatrical, weaving stories of queerness, grief, gratitude, and healing into epic, episodic songs.

The group has performed in interdisciplinary showcases across Kansas City, including Charlotte Street’s Scratch Night and collaborative shows at The Rino. In 2024, Dancy launched The KC Queertet, a SisterBot-led initiative uplifting queer musicians through live video recordings and chamber ensemble arrangements.

SisterBot is more than a band—it’s a space for storytelling, transformation, and cosmic exploration, where community and vulnerability take center stage.

From the artist, "I’ll be sharing some songs off of an upcoming untitled recording project (hopefully an album!) that are more folk, string-driven, and introspective pieces. I wrote the album with the ukulele and was able to experiment with new sounds, chord structures, time signatures, and therefore different feelings. It’s an album about belonging, very specific human emotions, and the things we learn as we get older.In addition to those newer songs, I’ll also share songs from my debut album Truth House, but with some new arrangements and flair to celebrate their 4th birthday."
