JL Jones has been painting since her mom stuck a big soft paintbrush in her hand at age five. Since that special day, Ms. Jones has created lots of art: drawings from pencil or ink, watercolors, paper collages, pastels, junk sculptures, and even a little hand-blown glass. Having lived an unconventional and varied life, making art has been her one constant companion. She currently lives in Sebastopol with her beloved husband, Will, and their adorable rescue dog, Bodie B. Most of the paintings in the show are acrylic on canvas and created between 1999 - present. Many are finger paintings. There are three, different series being presented: the Coming Home Series and the Joie Quotidien (Everyday Joy), which were painted while living in France, and collaged canvas pieces created by ripping up old paintings and gluing them together in new ways, as well as a few very large finger paintings from an earlier series called Internal Landscapes. The artist wishes to thank the Senior Center staff, and Aubri Lane, the Perspectives Gallery director.
