Guest Speaker: Faraz Minooei
Faraz Minooei is a santur player, composer, and educator born in Tehran. He began studying santur at age nine and later earned his B.A. from San Francisco State University as a Nagle Scholar, becoming the first World/Jazz music major with santur as his primary instrument. Faraz has performed and lectured at universities across the U.S. and collaborated with artists including Yo-Yo Ma and Kayhan Kalhor. He holds an MFA in Music from the University of California, Irvine, and is the founder of CSharp Int. music company and the nonprofit Bay Area Persian Music Ensemble.
