Melanie Price will be our Trail Boss and host. Please RSVP to her no later than COB Wednesday 4 February.Melanie 0447446343 or [email protected]
We will meet at the beach end of Perkins Beach Road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/L6GDNcctguEYFdQa7).
Get there earlier if you need more time to prepare. We'll park along the road.
This is a Training Ride, so we will be taking time to actively train ourselves and our horses. It is a relatively short ride (6km) but full of opportunities for building on trail riding experience including creek crossing, dune descent, beach riding, squeezes, camp grounds, car parks, road riding and road crossing. We will actively be doing trail training exercises to help your horse become more confident in new environments.
Bring a picnic lunch which we will eat at Cosy Corner Picnic area. Horses will be tied up to trees, so will need to be able to tie and stand quietly. Boots are recommended for the road component (approximately 3km).
For those who are not financial ANTs members, but want to attend this training day, you must have sorted out Day Membership by WEDNESDAY PRIOR to the ride day and you must be happy to ride under our Code of Conduct (see www.ATHRA.com.au).
Day memberships are purchased from the ATHRA website and a copy must be presented to the the coordinator on the day of the ride.
Guests and new members are always welcome to attend training days. However, in the safety of our club, we ask that you attend at least one of our training days before registering for a trail ride. This is so we can meet you and your horse to assess your readiness to safely participate in a group trail ride.
