The Performing Media Festival [PMF~] is an annual showcase of audio-visual performance works in which artists working with emerging technologies unapologetically cross disciplinary boundaries to create new works of integrated media. For this, the 9th annual Performing Media Festival, there will be live multimedia performance event at Indiana University South Bend 7 pm, Thursday, March 13th.
At the center of the festival is the special guest artist presentation. This year, PMF is proud to host Dr. Yuanyuan (Kay) He, who will have works featured throughout the festival including an Artist Talk at Noon on Friday, March 14th, in IU South Bend’s Louise E. Addicott & Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall. All events are free and open to the public.
Other Dates for the festival are:
DPAC’s Browning Cinema (7 pm, Friday, March 14th), and Langlab South Bend (7 pm, Saturday, March 15th), featuring over 20 artists and practitioners from across the United States. In addition to live performances, there will be screenings, installations, and presentations throughout the city including an Artist Meet-and-Greet featuring three works on the IQ-Wall at IU South Bend’s University Center (5 pm Thursday, March 7th), a Screening and Artists’ Panel at St. Joe County Public Library’s Leighton Auditorium (12 pm Saturday, March 15th), and over a dozen pieces from around the world featured in the ongoing exhibit at the South Bend Museum of Art (Ongoing - March 23th).
This event is free and open to the public. There are no online ticket sales at this time. Seating is general admission
