About this Event
2pm-5pm Performance 'Welcome to My Restless Night' by Yui Yamamoto
In the corner of the Crypt Gallery, Yui Yamamoto welcomes visitors to immerse themselves in her psychological and physical experience of a restless night. Driven by high pressure, stress, anxiety, and an uncertainty towards future, Yamamoto undergoes insomnia before delving into the physical aspects. The project on sleep began during the COVID-19 pandemic when Yamamoto's sleeping patterns deteriorated. Those chaotic insomniac nights transform into the video performance 'My Strange Wish to be Worm', delving into the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep known as Hypnagogia. In this live performance "Welcome to My Restless Night" as a new iteration of “My Strange Wish to be Worm” the artist will be affected by physical and sensory interruptions caused by the visitors, creating an experimental and unexpected live narrative.
