Experience a captivating performance by Irish artist Amanda Coogan in the BEUYS: 50 Years Later: Action, Society, Performance and Change exhibition at the Ulster Museum. About the artist:
Amanda Coogan’s work is influenced by her early life, having grown up in a household where Irish sign language was her first language, as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA). This connection continues to resonate throughout her artistic practice. Coogan graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1998 and is known for her live exhibitions that engage audiences through powerful, embodied expressions of time and space. She has been featured in major international art events, including the Venice Biennale in 2003 and the Liverpool Biennial in 2004, and received the prestigious Allied Irish Bank’s Art Prize in 2004. Coogan's film Gnawing on the Bones - Reflections on Beuys (2022), is also featured as part of our Beuys exhibition (kindly on loan from the artist).
