It's time for fellowship (and wine)!
As we start getting back to normal, the Knights of Columbus Council #15240 at St. Francis would love to have you at our first Perfect Pairings event! Perfect Pairings is a night of wine, paired hors d'oeuvres and fellowship.
The Knights of Columbus support many ministries and charities. Due to COVID-19, we've been working hard to come up with fun, safe and unique ideas to bring everyone back together. We hope this is just the start of many great events we plan to bring to our parish & community.
Perfect Pairings will consist of Sommelier, Scott Ota, providing education and excitement around these exquisite premium wines paired with delightful sweet and savory hors d'oeuvres; and of course you'll see many of your friends from St. Francis as well! Seating is limited and we do anticipate this could sell out.
We will plan on having limited additional bottles of wine on hand if any were particularly tasty for you to indulge at home for a donation to our worthy causes we support! We can't wait to see you--in person!
ABOUT SCOTT
In 2005, Scott Ota began his career in restaurants to help pay for college. It is now 2021 and he has never left ‘the business.’ From fine-dining, to hotels, to wine bars, sharing his love for wine and hospitality has been a mission for many years. As of 2016, he is now the General Manager & Beverage Director for High Street Wine Co in San Antonio, TX.
Scott’s accolades include the following: Somms Under Fire champion 2013, TexSom champion 2013, Rudd Scholar at his CMS advanced exam 2014, named one of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s ‘Best New Sommeliers’ 2014, TopSomm national finalist in 2016 and named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s ‘Tastemakers to Revolutionize the Business’ in 2018. High Street Wine Co has won numerous awards for its wine program in San Antonio, including top nods from the San Antonio Express News, Culturemap, SA Current and Texas Monthly.
In 2021, Scott continues the mission to make High Street Wine Co a top wine experience in the country. His mantra: be humble, be hospitable, drink well, and have fun!
