Let’s explore the wonderful world of pâte à choux! In this class, you will learn the basics of making and cooking with this versatile pastry dough in both sweet and savory dishes. You will learn the step-by-step process of making pâte à choux dough, including how to properly mix the ingredients, how to cook the dough on the stovetop, and how to pipe and shape the dough into various forms.
We will go beyond just baking and showcase how versatile the pâte à choux dough really is! In addition to baking some wonderfully cheesy gougeres, we will be transforming our pâte à choux into Parisian-style gnocchi and light-as-air, crispy fried churros!
On the menu is French gougeres filled with salmon and herb fromage blanc, Parisian-style gnocchi with basil pesto and fresh peas, and cinnamon-sugar churros served with a spicy orange chocolate sauce.
PLAYTE Kitchen in-person cooking classes are approximately 3 hours in length (2 hours in the kitchen and an hour to enjoy the food you’ve prepared). All guests will be provided kitchen towels, aprons, a class recipe packet to take home, and plenty of foodie fun along the way. A confirmation email will be sent upon ticket purchase will all the info you’ll need to know prior to arriving for your class.
