About this Event
Welcome to RGSE’s concert page! It has been four long years since we have put up a live concert and we could not be more excited about it – especially since we are raising funds for a worthy cause!
As such, do mark your calendars for 28 May and join us for an evening of music ranging from the fantastical world of Studio Ghibli film music to classics from the 19th century. See you then!
Duration
Duration: Approximately 1 hour with no intermission.
The auditorium doors will be opened at 4.45pm. We strongly recommend you to arrive between 4.30 - 4.45pm to collect a sticker for entry into the auditorium. Latecomers will only be admitted at suitable junctures.
Entry Requirements
- Ticket: All attendees must have a valid Eventbrite e-ticket.
- Vaccination status: Individuals must present proof of being EITHER fully vaccinated OR exempted from Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS)*
- SafeEntry: All ticket-holders are required to check in to SafeEntry through either scanning the QR code using the TraceTogether App on their phone.
*includes unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 within the last 180 days, children under the age of 12, and medically ineligible for COVID-19 Vaccination
Only individuals who meet all the above criteria will be given a sticker for entry to the concert venue. Help Us Keep Everyone Safe - please stay at home if you are unwell!
Donations (Fundraising for Heartstrings)
While admission to our concert is free, our CCA aims for the concert to benefit the wider community. As such, we have collaborated with Project Vocalise, a RGS Student Values-In-Action (SVIA) group, to raise funds for Heartstrings; Heartstrings is a music volunteer group that provides children from low-income families with free access to a music education; a large part of their work comprises teaching these children how to play the violin.
Despite the children's progress, however, many of them are unable to attain certificates to recognize and affirm their achievements due to the hefty music examination fees (with each exam costing hundreds of dollars per child).
As such, through this concert, we aim to raise at least $2640 to support 11 of Heartstrings’ beneficiaries. All donations will go towards paying for the children’s ABRSM Performance Grade fees, and we hope to have your support.
