Sankalpa: IntentionSankalpa is a Sanskrit word that means “intention” or “resolve”. It is a practice in yogic traditions that involves setting an affirmative intention to manifest change. The word is made up of two parts: San, which means “a connection with the highest truth,” and Kalpa, which means “vow”.
Step away from the rush of everyday life and immerse yourself in a moment of deep introspection as we align our heartfelt intentions with the ebb and flow of the changing season. As daylight diminishes we greet the longest night, this is the perfect opportunity to connect with your inner light, referred to in yoga as the Purusha.
Join us for a tranquil session that will feature soothing aromatherapy designed to calm your mind and soothe your spirit. As we journey together, we'll gather in a circle to share in the warmth of community, where you can enjoy the comforting presence of herbal tea and light, nourishing snacks. The experience will be enhanced by a short dharma talk, offering insight and inspiration as we honor this time of reflection and renewal. Come, recharge your spirit, and embrace the stillness of the season with us.
Come comfy. We have mats, bolsters, and blankets or chairs for you to make yourself as comfortable as possible. You’re also welcome to bring your own mat, blanket, or pillow. Journals also welcome.
Facilitated by April Foster and Teresa Devpreet
