Good evening Rackers, If you haven’t made your NYE plans yet, check this out. This is not a joke either. We will be hosting the 1st Annual Peoria Wide Rock Paper Scissors Championship on New Years Eve. We’ll get the official flier out by the weekend, but this will be a $10 entry fee, double elimination format. Best of 7 (race to 4) matches.
We are guaranteeing a $500 first place cash prize for the champion, but also this is a 100 percent payback event so with more entries, we will pay more places.
I have hosted these tournaments before and you’re not going to believe how fun and intense it is. I will be the tournament director, emcee and ring announcer.
Now, if you’re thinking RPS is purely a game of chance, you are mistaken. The strategy is in reading your opponents tendencies and patterns.
For instance, you may notice that your opponent never throws scissors, or after a draw throw they may always go back to their starting throw, whatever that may be.
And sometimes, you can tap into unknown powers of your brain and make your opponent throw what you want them to throw using silent mental intimidation and they wont even know why they threw rock!
