Peoria City’s popular Copa Peoria Series has expanded its showcase with the addition of a key, early-season high school girls soccer matchup featuring traditional local power PND Irish Girls Soccer against Western Big 6 Conference foe Geneseo.In a rematch of a 2023 IHSA Sectional Final, PND and Geneseo will open the March 22 Copa Peoria Series action with a 1:00 pm kickoff at Peoria Stadium, to be followed immediately by the international friendly between 2024 USL League Two national runner up Peoria City against the Under 23 team from one of the world’s most popular professional soccer clubs, Chivas de Guadalajara.
