About this Event
Join our People's Economy Session!
Economy can be a scary word, but this session (led by the People's Economy) will create space to explore our shared understanding of the political and economic systems in which we live. We will deepen our knowledge of how those systems impact our communities, our work, and our ability to create meaningful change.
If we want to challenge systemic inequality, we must first understand how power operates: who holds it, how itโs maintained, and how it can be transformed.
Exploring the "peopleโs economy" is a critical step in building collective power, strengthening our organising, and imagining alternatives that truly serve our communities.
๐ Save the date for June 20th, 10am-4pm, and make time to join fellow organisers, activists, and community leaders from across the city as we learn together and build the foundations for lasting change.
๐กYou will leave with:
- An understanding of how Coventryโs economy worksโwho holds power, how decisions are made, and who benefits.
- Simple tools to spot power, inequality, and leverage opportunities in your own work and community. Inspiring, real-life examples of people-powered alternatives like co-ops, community wealth building, and local organising.
- Practical resources and ideas you can use straight away in campaigns, projects, and conversations.
๐ Register now to save your place and help us plan for everyone who wants to attend.
