PEOPLE MOVER
To celebrate the release of their debut album 'Cane Trash', Meanjin/Brisbane trio People Mover hit the road this October. ‘Cane Trash’ is a collection of songs shaped by the Queensland heat permeating through childhood homes and share houses. It captures the messiness of being in your twenties through melodies that stick like a seatbelt in summer. After playing their first UK shows in 2024, People Mover are bringing 'Cane Trash' home to Australian audiences following the album's release this September.
EXPENSIVE MUSIC BAND
Born in Dharug country and based now on Dharawal land, Troon Lienad has been honing his melodic sensibility in a plethora of musical support roles. The last 15 years has seen him low key self releasing and toiling away at a number of primitive avant pop DIY projects that each sound delightfully alien from one another.
In 2023 he released the full length album for Expensive Music Band ’Things to say at a Barbecue', Lienad left his bedroom production posture and improvisational druthers behind to find comfort in musical democracy with co-conspirators: Annabelle Blackman(Body Type, Solo Career), Chet Tucker (Chet Sounds/Tex Crick Band), Luke Player (Tropical Strength, Pinheads) and Bowen Shakallis(Big White). The album gathered high praise featuring on many of end of year record lists and is to be followed up by the hotly anticipated 'Cringila Village New Age' at the end of 2025.
LIBRARY SIESTA
Charming five-piece Library Siesta have a knack for writing lo-fi indie lullabies that encompass you with their warm, life-affirming melodic parables. Never afraid of the shadows, but always delivered lighter than air, their 2022 album ‘What You’re Worth’ is a dream-pop gem.
