Hazelnuts and blaeberries, aromatic wild herbs and fascinating fungi; come along and learn about the magical species growing in our hills.The Pentland Hills are always a beautiful environment, but they are especially full of magic this time of year: besides ripe fruits and nuts, wild herbs and berries, the alpine grasslands now are studded with a rainbow of brightly coloured fungi. Learn which of these are tasty, which are toxic, and which are mind altering .
This is a two and a half hour family friendly identification course with some steep uphill and downhill walking on paths. Please wear good walking shoes and comfortable, dry and warm outerwear. We will finish the course with a wild food picnic, so let me know of dietary requirements at the time of booking.
