:$400 entry fee per team paid in cash at the boat ramp the morning of the tournament at check-in. Tournament organizer retains 20% of entry fees for tournament expenses and organization.
:Jigs only - no bait, no chum, and no tipping hooks. This is about the skill of working a jig - no exceptions. Baitwells, ice chests, storage compartments and livewells will be checked before any boat is launched. Jig definition - a lead or tungsten weighted bait profile with assist hook loops at either end and 1 to 4 assist hooks per lure. No casting lures such as poppers, crank baits, swim baits, eels, soft plastic lures or any similar type lure that can be or are cast from the boat and retrieved horizontally through the water column are allowed.
:Boats only. Anglers must remain in the boat to catch and land fish.
:No boundaries. Fishing may be done in the bay or the Gulf at any distance from shore.
:Boat length 21ft - 31ft.
:Teams will consist of two anglers per vessel.
:Shotgun start at first safe light. (varies throughout the year)
:Registration start time will be announced but varies from 4:00 to 5:00 depending on the season and time of sunrise.
:Each team may weigh in 4 fish.
:Fish length will be verified on the tournament director’s bump-board with the tournament director’s tail pincher pulled to 1/8" from the end of the tail for species requiring overall length measurements. Fish requiring fork measurements will be measured without tail compression.
:All anglers must use the same boat ramp, you are not allowed to load and relaunch at another location. Boats that are not trailered to the boat ramp must moore at the boat launch for inspection and registration.
:All fish weighed must be inside the Florida slot regulations and must be in season.
:All teams must be back at the ramp by 5 pm. Late teams will be penalized a half pound per minute that they are late. After being 5 minutes late, the team's catch will be disqualified.
:In the event of a tie at weigh-in, the tie breaker shall be determined by a coin flip performed by the tournament director.
:Disqualification – Any team will be disqualified if a team member violates these rules. Any physical altercation between teams or team members shall result in disqualification of all parties involved in the altercation and banning from all future tournaments.
:Payouts
1-4 teams– winner takes all
5-6 teams- 1st 70%, 2nd 30%
7-9+ teams– 1st 65%, 2nd 25%, 3rd 15%
:All decisions by the tournament director are final.
:Should a tournament be canceled for any reason, all efforts will be made to reschedule for the following weekend.
:Any minor who wants to compete must compete with a parent. Will also need to sign a separate hold harmless agreement.
Liability:
The organizers assume no liability for participation in this tournament. Anglers and team members assume all liability for participation in the tournament and operation of their vessels. Participants will be required to sign a hold harmless waiver at sign-in as a condition of participation. All vessels participating in the event shall have onboard all safety equipment required by the USCG for their length and type vessel, including but not limited to: a functional VHF radio, emergency signaling devices, PFDs for each person onboard, a type IV PFD and a first aid kit. Each participant is required to have a Florida fishing license. Vessels are required to have functional navigation and anchor lights.
Teams are expected to have navigational and operating skills suitable for safe participation in a tournament format. It is the responsibility of the individual teams to consult weather and seas forecasts to decide whether they have sufficient skills to navigate sea conditions in the areas they decide to fish. Once registered and checked-in, no refunds of entry fees will be allowed.
Photos taken during sign-in, fishing and weigh-in activities may be used on social media for the purpose of promoting the tournament or its sponsors.
