About this Event

Celebrated songwriters Kay Miracle and Penny Jo Pullus will join Mike Younger & The Tennessee Treehuggers to bring a range of creative diversity that spans genres and reflects the solidarity and coalition-building happening in the grassroots of our times. They will start in the Midwest on August 2nd in Cleveland, OH, and end on August 11th in New York, NY.

After supporting the U.S. Troops with international performances on the USO circuit for seven years, singer-songwriter Kay Miracle fought to find her own voice. She has done just that. Her music is organic, raw, and full of true-life experiences, making you see the light with her sarcasm and passion. Kay is an art facilitator and founder of Blood To Ink, a songwriter workshop that addresses trauma reduction through songwriting and art meditation. Hosting workshops serving the veteran community and their families. For more info: https://kaymiracle.com

Penny Jo Pullus, a critically acclaimed performer of the O.G. Americana/Roots music scene and London Records The Greezy Wheels; known as The Grateful Dead of Texas.  The house band of the Legendary Armadillo Headquarters.  P.J. is the "artavist" founder of TeXchromosome, a group that advocates for women in music. She is the TeXchromosome Radio Show's radio hostess that lifts women's voices internationally. For more info: https://texchromosome.org

Mike Younger was a street singer working in New Orleans when he was "discovered" by Rodney Crowell, who then produced Mike's debut release, Somethin' In The Air (2000). Since that fateful turn of events, Mike has written, performed, recorded, and released an impressive body of work. His music, songwriting, and devotion to progressive causes earn him new fans worldwide. His most recent release Burning The Bigtop Down (2021), is the masterful result of a hard-fought battle to reclaim his lost recordings with rock legends Levon Helm and Jim Dickinson. On the 8/11 date, they will be joined by Emily Duff and Kelly Swindall - Emily Duff's small-batch brand of "Sweet & Sour Rock And Roll With A Great Big Hit Of Country Soul" digs deep, weaving a patchwork of sin, tragedy, romance, and regret that lies at your feet begging to be mended. A dark optimist, Emily Duff is a unique voice for women at a crucial time.  "One Part Patti Smith, One Part Muscle Shoals."  - Rolling Stone. Kelley Swindall draws from her Southern roots to present a blend of soulful & bluesy folk coupled with a witty, gritty, classic country sensibility.  Inspired by the outlaw tradition and deeply rooted in talking blues, her story-songs are driven by strong female characters who tell it like it is and don't take any shit.
