Gren Penn and Dawn Birch-James (Dawn the Fiddle) will be launching their duo at this fabulous celebration of folk music in Melton Mowbray 2pm Saturday 13th December at The Crown and 4pm at The Half Moon.

Gren Penn (guitar vocals and melodeum) and Dawn Birch-James (Dawn the Fiddle) will be launching their duo at the Melton Folk Trail. They are excited to offer a vibrant take on traditional songs and tunes.
Gren started his music career in punk and new wave bands enjoying record labels and brief fame with a hit single. He worked as a sound engineer in famous studios around the world. Later on he developed a true passion for folk music. He is currently a key member of Belchamp Morris and plays in a local band The Kitchenettes.
Dawn was classically trained and is a violin tutor mainly for adults who want to learn or want to pick up the violin again. She plays first violin in an orchestra and is the member of folk band Talk of the Village and more recently Red Myrtle a classical folk fusion band. As a linguist she has a keen ear for sound and having led art related businesses injects her brand of creativity and flare
