Tailgate proceeds benefit the pets & programs of the Peninsula SPCA. The Peninsula SPCA is a private, non-profit, “Adoption Guarantee” or no-K*ll shelter that devotes its time and resources to finding forever homes for the animals in their care and to and to advocate for the humane treatment of all animals in their community. In the past year, the Peninsula SPCA has saved over 1,100 lives, performed over 1,300 spay/neuter surgeries, and vaccinated more than 750 pets. In addition, PSPCA continues to expand their humane education offerings, reaching over 6,500 students and families in 2024. The organization receives no public funding and relies on the community for support to keep the benefit of an adoption-guarantee shelter alive for the Virginia Peninsula community’s citizens and pets.
