The pelvis is the body’s powerhouse - a center of strength, stability, and flow.
At its foundation lies the pelvic floor, a group of muscles that quietly supports our posture, breath, and emotional well-being. When this area is out of balance - whether from trauma, tension, or weakness - it can ripple throughout the entire body.
This class offers a safe and supportive space to reconnect with your pelvic floor through yoga. Using breath, asana, and bandha, we’ll gently mobilize and strengthen the pelvis, creating both stability and freedom of movement. Together, we’ll explore practices that restore balance not just physically, but emotionally - leaving you grounded, resilient, and more at ease in your body.
About Afton
Having practiced and taught yoga for two decades, Afton has rediscovered herself time and time again through her practice. Her yoga journey began in 2005 in Orlando, FL with Bikram yoga, and has landed her in Austin, TX as a 1,000-hour IAYT-certified yoga therapist through Practice School of Yoga Therapy. Some chapters along her path include, yoga sport championships, trainings in prenatal, Ashtanga, and Yin yoga, 300 RYT with Christina Sell and Giocanda Parker, and becoming Mother to two beautiful girls. Afton’s classes use alignment-based movement to cultivate strength, mobility, functionality, and mindfulness. Through teaching, Afton encourages students to trust their bodies, take a keen interest in themselves, and uncover the radiant wisdom that lives deep within us all.
