This two day peer support course focuses on the following:Overview of symptoms of stress, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse
Introduction to and development of active listening strategies, non-verbal communication skills, and crisis intervention strategies.
Building rapport with your fellow first responders on and off the job.
Identifying local mental health resources
Upon completion of this program, individuals are eligible to volunteer as members of VFRSS's peer support team and can respond to a peer's request for support.
Learn how to build and manage your own Peer Support Team and develop applicable S.O.P.s or General Orders
Price - $150 per person, Scholarships available
