About this Event
This October, Th3rdPlace Peer Support will discuss Men and Openness to Emotions.
We enter this subject by examining societal demands, judgment, and competition, then graduatlly swim towards the inner sense of safety, trust, shame, stress, self-worth and loneliness.
Our goal is to share and improve techniques that are Simple, Relatable, and Immediate Applicable to help each other channel negative emotions, in order to feel safer, and improve the quality of life.
It's not easy to find people who can support us emotionally, nor do we always know how to support others effectively when they are in emotional distress and feeling lonely. We will use philosophical and psychological knowledge as guides, use case studies and personal stories to relate to, and discuss topics like:
- Where do these feelings come from?
- How old are these feelings?
- How do they develop?
- How do I get in touch with my own emotions and befriend them?
- How can I feel connected with others?
- How can I improve social skills to better operate in the workplace, school, and at home?
- How to not take things personally?
- How to motivate self and others?
It's an interactive peer support session that is guided by moderators, and everyone is encouraged to voice their thoughts!
