About this Event
Peer mediation equips children with the skills and confidence to help resolve conflicts between their peers. Peer Mediation schemes commonly lead to increased empathy, understanding and pro social behaviours across the school as well as staff spending less time dealing with low level disputes.
On this course, participants will learn about:
•Conflict, conflict styles, conflict escalation, de-escalation, identifying feelings and needs, the processes and skills of peer mediation
•How to teach these skills to children
•How to implement a sustainable peer mediation scheme in their school
It is recommended that schools send two participants on the course. At least one attendee should have strategic authority to implement the scheme in school, as well as the capacity to provide some ongoing support to peer mediators.
This training is provided by Quakers in Britain in association with the Civil Mediation Council. Costs are subsidised by Quakers in Britain.
Ticket price includes training, materials and lunch and refreshements
