Join Walking.im on our new Peel Prom to Laxey Prom walking challenge on Saturday 26th April Starting from Peel Promenade on the west coast, the route takes us over the centre of the Island, eventually ending the walk at Laxey Promenade. The route will use a variety of terrains including open uplands, footpaths, greenways, quiet country roads, plantations, and moorland paths. The views will be stunning as we take an unusual route full of ups and downs...It's a real challenge.
The route will be approx. 20 miles in total with over 1040m of ascent with stops along the route and a longer break for a packed lunch.
Please wear sensible footwear (boots ideally), clothes to suit a variety of possible weather situations, it will be cooler in higher exposed areas, packed lunch, snacks, and water to keep you hydrated, there will be limited places along the route to get fresh water.

Its good days walking and you must be confident of your fitness for the distance and ascent and descents but there will be plenty of opportunities to stop on what is a fantastic route - full of amazing views and a real achievement.
