Early on December 7, 1941, citizens and servicemembers alike in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, faced terror as Japanese planes rained fire on the island in a stunning surprise attack. The assault quickly plunged the United States into a world-changing war. Each year, The National WWII Museum commemorates those who lost their lives on that fateful December day.Following a moment of silence at 11:55 a.m. CST (7:55 a.m. HST) to mark the time of the attack, a brief ceremony will remember the more than 2,400 Americans lost and reflect on the significance of the day, 84 years later.
