About Our Host: Blackfish Gallery
Blackfish Gallery has been fully owned and operated by working artists since its founding in 1978. As the oldest cooperative gallery in Portland and one of the most successful in the country, Blackfish has played a key role in shaping the Pearl District’s arts scene. The gallery represents emerging, mid-, and late-career artists, including four founding members, and has supported over 200 prominent Oregon and Washington artists.
In 2024, Blackfish was honored with a proclamation from the City of Portland recognizing its contributions to the local arts ecosystem. This April, the gallery will feature work by Hannah Theiss, Philip Stork, and Noah Alexander Isaac Stein, along with Under the Covers, a group show inspired by favorite books in celebration of National Poetry Month.
Come grab a coffee, make new connections, and help us continue building a thriving, engaged Pearl District community. We look forward to seeing you there!
