We are holding a peaceful protest in response to the government's ongoing efforts to bring large numbers of asylum seekers into our communities without proper transparency or public consultation.Despite clear challenges with the current approach to multiculturalism, the safety and well-being of our children continues to be overlooked. Most concerning is the decision to place a group of people in an area already deeply scarred by decades of child sexual exploitation (CSE) — a move that many in the community see as deeply insensitive and irresponsible.
CSE remains a serious issue in Telford. For years, local authorities and police failed to act on the abuse of vulnerable children, and those responsible for the cover-ups have still not been held accountable. This protest is our way of standing up and saying: we will not stay silent, and we do not accept decisions that disregard the safety of our community.
