With the rising cost of living, many people in our local community are struggling and worry how they will put food on the table to feed their families. Demand for food has continued to increase in the last year, with around 700 Canberra households a month asking for food help. I want to help so I'm hosting a food drive picnic to collect food and other necessities for those in need. Donations will help Communities at Work to stock their community food pantries.
Come and enjoy a sweet treat in the sun! BYO rug or chair, sweet treats are provided, you may like to bring other food or drinks.
To attend the picnic, you must bring one (or more) of the following donatable items:
- Rice, cous cous, instant noodles, pasta, pasta sauce, packet soup
- Tinned vegetables, tinned fruits, tinned meat/fish, tinned soup
- Long life milk, soy/almond milk, cereal, sugar, spreads
- Toilet Paper, tissues, toothbrushes/paste, soap/liquid soap, shampoo/conditioner, tampons/pads, deodorant, baby formula, large nappies, wipes/creams
- Coffee/tea/hot chocolate, juice
- Dishwashing liquid, laundry powder, disinfectant
- Gluten-free foods
