Welcome to the PDX Battle Of The Bands! Get ready for a night of amazing music and fierce competition at the Ponderosa Lounge & Grill. Join us for 7 weeks of Wednesdays filled with incredible talent, with one band taking home the $2000 grand prize and the opener opportunity to play with another star artist. Beginning Wed, May 15, 2024, at 7:00 PM for an unforgettable experience. Come cheer on your favorite local bands as they battle it out for the title of champion. Going head to head: Tony Smiley vs. Silvertongue
Tony Smiley - Since 2000, Tony Smiley has captured audiences with raw rhythms of all live looping. This musical savant loops his way through a unique genre of music that you won’t find anywhere else. All with a witty, engaging, and energetic stage presence. His cosmic dance of electric melodies range from rock, hip hop, reggae, tribal fusion, 80's and everything in between, with a dash of Mongolian throat singing and beat-boxing have earned the loop ninja a cult like following that repeatedly embarks on his musical journey. Creating each track with a raw and primal pulsating connection between rich rhythms and passionate lyrics.

Silvertongue - Originally formed in Massachusetts by front man Andrew Stevens, guitarist Jake Hogan, and bassist Dorian Taylor, the band relocated to Portland, Oregon where they found the missing pieces to their puzzle—keyboardist, Mel Boell, and drummer, Joe-Henry McQuary.
Silvertongue has developed a reputation in the Pacific Northwest music scene for their high-energy, ultra-dynamic performances and contagious charisma on and off stage. Their sound, rooted in folk, has grown to embrace elements of pop and dance music for a well-rounded catalog of wondrous adventure songs best described as “Garden Indie.”
The band’s latest release, Colors, is a seemingly care-free indie anthem that encapsulates the melancholy aftermath of a bitter breakup. The single was recorded at Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland, OR—engineered and mixed by Zach Bloomstein.
