Event Program: Business Equity for Indy (BEI) Workforce Pilot Equity Projects

We are thrilled to spotlight the inspiring work of our BEI Workforce pilot participants and share their impactful Equity Projects. These small to midsize organizations, representing diverse industries, demonstrate the power of intentional DEI strategies. You'll hear firsthand about their journeys, the challenges they faced, and the remarkable wins they achieved. Each of these companies created a comprehensive Implementation Plan workbook for their equity projects, a crucial step in ensuring robust and well-managed initiatives. This workbook included vital components such as a project charter, stakeholder analysis, risk matrix, risk management plan, action plan, project budget, and communication plans. This level of detail provided a clear roadmap for success, ensuring all aspects of their projects were well-defined and effectively managed.

The Business Equity for Indy (BEI) Workforce Pilot is an intensive, two-year cohort designed to equip companies with the knowledge and resources they need to advance equity. This program provides high-value consultation, connects businesses with industry experts, and empowers them to adopt evidence-based strategies to reduce disparities and support talent strategies. In the fall of 2022, 19 forward-thinking companies joined the program, recognizing the need to invest in greater equity and seeking guidance to drive measurable outcomes. This opportunity presents a unique chance to learn from these pioneers and gain valuable insights into strategies and tools that can be implemented within your organization. Join us as we explore the impactful work of these BEI Workforce pilot participants and discover how they are making a real difference in their communities and the broader business landscape.

About Business Equity for Indy (BEI):

In the fall of 2020, the Indy Chamber along with the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) in collaboration with the Indianapolis Urban League (IUL) launched Business Equity for Indy (BEI). Following a summer that witnessed a new level of awareness of the deep, racial disparities that continue to confront Central Indiana and the country, as well as a devastating pandemic, BEI was created to grow a more inclusive business climate and build greater equity and economic opportunity for the Indy region’s Black residents and people of color.
